Evening Prayer for December 25
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
God’s Word
Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.
Today’s takeaway: Thank God tonight for His Son, the unspeakable gift at the heart of Christmas.
Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
He … spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all
Having yet … one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him
Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thanks be to You for Your unspeakable gift. To us a child is born, to us a Son is given. You did not spare Him but gave Him up for us all. Tonight I thank You for the people I celebrated with today and for every good gift. My soul magnifies the Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Pray as Jesus taught us
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
