Evening Prayer for December 10

About 2–3 minutes · 10 Scripture passages (KJV)

Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

God’s Word

The perfect law of liberty

Today’s takeaway: Christ has set you free from sin, so use your freedom to love and serve others.

Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.

The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.

Before you pray

How did you use your freedom in Christ today?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, You said the truth would make me free, and if You make me free, I am free indeed. Whoever commits sin is a servant of sin, but I have been set free and have become a servant of righteousness. Help me stand fast in that liberty, and use it to serve others in love. I will walk at liberty, for I seek Your precepts. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Pray as Jesus taught us

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Amen.

Blessing

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
